A great addition to the Wii gaming experience June 11, 2009 PT Cruiser (CA USA) 354 out of 392 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3NJPOOHGAS7ZC I've only tried the Wii MotionPlus with one game so far, Virtua Tennis 2009 but the MotionPlus enhanced the sensitivity of the Wiimote and made it more responsive when playing this game. It seems to sense the turning and direction or your hand better than the Wiimote alone and I thought it made the Virtua Tennis game more realistic and enjoyable. It gives you that little bit extra to play the game.
I recorded this short video so you can see how it attaches to the Wiimote. As you can see, when it's on you don't even notice that it's there. It isn't big or clunky like some of the add-on's to make the nunchuks wireless that I've seen.
I liked the addition of it with this one game and I'm looking forward to trying other games as they're released.
Update 6/21/09 - I had a chance to try the Wii MotionPlus with a friends new Tiger Woods Golf game and the difference between the game with and without the Wii MotionPlus is pretty amazing, probably even more so than with Virtua Tennis. It's much more fine tuned than last year's game.
Must have for exercise games November 17, 2009 Kristen B (Los Lunas, NM USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This took my Wii Fit and EA Sports to a new level. Even playing tennis is now much funner- I don't have to work as hard to make my motions show, and I wish they came out with this sooner!
Works great August 11, 2009 T. Stinson (Cypress, CA United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Okay, first off, if you are going to compare this with playing the real sport...stop! It's a video game and that's how it plays like. So say "I play tennis and it's nothing like the real thing" Duh! For those of you complaining about the calibration on sword fighting, I have noticed it too, but not as bad as you make it out to be. It works well and yes I did too have to calibrate after sometime, but I only had to do that on the sword fighting, the other 11 games seemed to work great. And for those people that said that this should have come free with Wii or with the game. Please...does Nintendo owe you free stuff when they come out with it? No, if you want it...buy it, if not, then don't. Simple. They are a business to make money and that is what they are going to do...and you know what, they are doing a great job of it too. Lastly, for the few that said it's not the easiest thing to put on and take off. It's not that hard. Much easier then putting it in and taking it out of the guitar for Guitar Hero.
For everyone else, go ahead and buy this with a game that can utilize the extra control and you will have fun. It's well worth the $
It pays to recalibrate... October 14, 2009 R. RESENDE 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
When the Wii remote was designed it did not acommodate (cost/benefit?) more precise sensing devices; Now you will be able to play with great realism but depending on your enthusiasm you will have to press the "2" button, rest the wii remote (with the attached wii Motionplus) on a flat surface, and in less than one second the sensing devices will be recalibrated. Curb your enthusiasm!
Makes the Wii a better gaming system June 17, 2009 The Phoenix 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This piece of equipment makes the Wii about 300% more responsive. The reviews based on price are just absurd. The reviews are SUPPOSED to be based on the product. As for the guy complaining about the responsiveness with Tennis? I can't speak to that, but Tiger Woods golf is a phenomenally better experience with the Motion plus.
